I think we all know that the secret to getting (and even keeping) a great guy is getting them to chase after YOU. Men love the chase. For whatever reason, they find you to be more appealing when they have to actually work for your attention. We have exactly what you need to play hard to get and get that man to chase you after you.

1. Don’t Chase After Him

You can’t expect someone to chase after you if you’re still chasing after them. Stop the chase. Make him come to you! Stop being the one to text first, don’t initiate the conversation, and don’t go to him for anything. I mean it! It might be hard sometimes, but if you really want to get a man to chase you, you need to back off and don’t chase him.

2. Play Tug of War – With Your Feelings

Another way you can get a man to chase you is to be a little wish-washy with your feelings. Make him wonder how you feel about him. Be overly sweet and flirty sometimes and then other times pull back and treat him just like everyone else. It might sound counterproductive, but he’ll be really intrigued to find out how you feel and the only way to find that out is to run after you and ask!

3. Show Him There’s Competition

For the same reasons men love the chase, they love competition. It’s just in their blood as a human being. Flirt with other people – preferably his friends – whenever you’re around so he sees that he might not be the only person on your mind. This will make his animal instincts kick in and he’ll want to make sure he wins you over every other person. That means that he’ll be the one chasing after you to make that happen.

4. Be Someone Worth Chasing After

Men aren’t going to chase after a woman who is uptight, jealous, or just presents themselves in a bad manor. Be a woman that he’ll want to chase after. Be cool, happy, and always act like you’re having the best time no matter where you go. He’ll want to be a part of that fun and will come after you just to get it. Be a woman of high value and any man will work hard to get that in their life.

5. Find Your Confidence

Confidence is something that not everyone has and when someone does have it, men want that person! When you’re so sure about yourself and when you feel good in your own skin, you shine in a way that is almost irresistible. Being confident gives you the upper hand in almost any situation involving trying to get a man. Confidence is that special something that causes men to get all tongue tied and has them tripping over their own feet. Be confident and that man will chase after you.

6. Flirt Subtly

Flirting alone can definitely help you when you’re trying to get him to chase after you, but being subtle about it is a whole other story. When you’re really subtle about flirting and doing it in a way where he can’t quite tell if you’re actually flirting or not, this is what will make him keep going after you just to figure it out. Make little comments in a nonchalant way that compliment him, but only slightly. If you have him furrowing his eyebrow in confusion, then you’re on the right track!

7. Be Busy With Your Own Life

And I don’t mean to ignore his texts and wait the “appropriate” amount of time before responding. I mean actually being busy enough with your life that you aren’t around your phone long enough to reply right away. Don’t avoid making plans with friends in the hopes that this guy will be around. Being busy with your own life and living it will make you that much more valuable to him and he’ll have to chase after you if he really wants your time.

8. Be More Mysterious

What makes you flip that page when you’re reading a good book? More than likely, it’s the mystery. The urge you have that makes you want to know more and more about the story line. You have to be that amazing story. Be mysterious. Make him ask questions and then run after you to get those answers. Don’t give away every aspect of your life or every hidden talent you have. Make him chase after you to find out more.

9. Don’t Disregard Him Too Much

You should definitely play hard to get from time to time, but too much of that will give him the wrong idea. He’ll simply think you’re not interested and that will lead him in the wrong direction.  You do want to pull away sometimes to make him come after you, but don’t flat out ignore him in general. He won’t want to keep running after someone and not getting anywhere at all. Keep it in an even balance.

10. Keep the Chemistry There, But Distant

You never want to lose the chemistry that has built between the two of you! Without the chemistry, there really won’t be any driving factor that will keep him in the chase. The best way to keep that chemistry intact is to flirt, initiate some physical contact, and be around him so he can feel the chemistry as well. But you’ll also want to reel it in sometimes so he has something to chase after. You want to spark the chemistry and then leave it up to him to fuel that fire!
