We’re so excited for all the movies set for release in 2017, and that’s mostly because we have serious girl crushes on so many of the actresses that are in them! We’ve brought together 30 home female actresses under 30 in 2017, and we think you’re going to love them!
1 – Emma Roberts

This American singer and actress was originally born in New York, after making her 201 movie debut in Blow, alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz, she’s also found fame in a string of films – Wild Child in 2008, Valentine’s Day in 2010, and also The Art of Getting By in 2011.

The actress has since gone on to find more mature roles as she has aged, and 2014 saw movies like Palo Alto and Adult World. She also branched out into television, appearing in American Horror Story, The Hills and Unfabulous. 2017 will see the release of the currently post-production, Billionaire Boys Club, also starring Ensel Elgort, Jeremy Irvine and Kevin Spacey.
2 – Emily Browning

28 year old Emily Browning was born in Australia, and it was on Australian TV that she made her debut – a TV movie called The Echo of Thunder. You may also have spotted her in TV shows such as Something in the Air and Blue Heelers. It was in 2002 that she found real movie fame, starring in Ghost Ship, and that led to the 2004 hit, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Emily has since gone on to star in some of the best films from our generation – Sucker Punch in 2011, for example, and 2015’s Legend about the Krays. You’ll soon spot her in the 2017 film, Golden Exits, an American-Greek movie.
3 – Margot Robbie

She recently played the infamous Harley Quinn, Joker’s sidekick and love interest in Suicide Squad, but Australian actress is only 28 – much younger than the years she seems. Her career started in Australian soap operas, appearing in Neighbours from 2008 to 2011. She moved the US to then star in Pan Am, and The Wolf of Wall Street soon followed. It’s just gotten better and better for this actress, and as well as getting married, she’s had great Hollywood success.

There are two films due out in 2017 starring Margot – Terminal, and a currently untitled project. Three movies are due out in 2018 also – I, Tonya, Peter Rabbit, and Larrikins. We’re super excited to see her again, that’s for sure!
4 – Kristen Stewart

Kirsten Stewart is a 26 year old actress who is best known for her role in the Twilight movies. She played Bella Swan, love interest of Edward and Jacob, vampire and werewolf respectively, and you will also have seen her in Speak in 2004, Into the Wild in 2007, and also Still Alice in 2014.

5 – Julianne Hough

Not just an actress, but a model, singer and dancer too, Julianne Hough has been seen in hit movies such as Dirty Grandpa, Curve, Paradise, and the oh-so-brilliant remake, Footloose. Not just that, her dancing career has made her a champion of Dancing with the Stars, winning twice. It was the 2011 film, Footloose, that saw her first branch out into the world of lead acting, and it’s a move she can’t regret.

Her career has gone from strength to strength, and as well as an impressive set of dancing skills under her belt, she has also released a few singles and albums and appeared in no fewer than four music videos.
6 – Nina Dobrev

Born in Bulgaria, Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, or Nina Dobrev as we know her better as, is also Canadian. Most of us will remember her best for her part in The Vampire Diaries, but that’s not all she has found fame in. It was her character in Degrassi: The Next Generation – Mia Jones – that first catapulted her into the limelight.
There are two movies released in 2017 that will star this pretty actress, Flatliners being just one of them, also starring Ellen Page, and XXX: Return of Xanger Cage, which everyone is super excited to see!
7 – Blake Lively

After seeing those pictures of her trying to control both her kids (and her husband) on the red carpet with the whole Hollywood star business, we’ve decided that Blake Lively is actually a living legend. She also looked so stunning throughout her pregnancy, we’ve made her our #womangoals. 29 year old Blake Ellender Brown (as she was born) was born in LA, and has not only had a dazzling film career, but also married Ryan Reynolds and made beautiful babies with him.
8 – Ashley Benson

27 year old Ashley Benson is a model and an actress, better known for her role in Pretty Little Liars – Hanna Marin. She was also on Days of Our Lives, playing the part of Abigail Deveraux.
Ashley has had great success in the movie world since then, appearing in Elvis & Nixon and Spring Breakers, and she also became the face of evening wear designer, Faviana. We’d say that life is looking pretty peachy for Ashley!
9 – Sarah Hyland

Despite having kidney dysplasia, Sarah Hyland has gone from strength to strength when it comes to her acting career, and it may even surprise you to learn that in 2012, she received a kidney transplant from her father. Recently this has had a bit of an impact on her, and she was forced to miss the SAG ceremony this year.
Her first acting role was in the 1997 movie, Private Parts, in which she plays the part of Howard Stern’s daughter. She’s since gone on to appear in Lipstick Jungle, and has even branched out into Broadway.
10 – Ariana Grande

She’s best known for a pop star, but Ariana Grande is also an actress, and considering she’s just 23 years of age, she’s achieved quite a lot in her life. She actually started her career in Broadway, and then went on to bag herself a role in the Nickelodeon TV show, Victorious back in 2009. That’s where her musical career began, and she sung the 2011 soundtrack – Music from Victorious. She’s since gone on to win three American Music Awards, and four nominations for Grammy Awards too.
11 – Saoirse Ronan

This American and Irish actress has earned herself a string of award nominations over her relatively short career, including Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and Screen Actors Guild Awards too. Saoirse has also won two Academy Awards, and gone on to star in some of the most memorable movies of our time – The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hanna and Atonement, for example.
2017 is set to be a very good year for this 22 year old actress, with no fewer than four films being released, and two more going into 2018 also.
12 – Jane Levy

27 year old Jane Levy shot to fame in TV shows such as the US version of Shameless, and also in Suburgatory, which we absolutely loved! That was her first leading TV show character, and she branched into movies from there. Her first movie was in 2012 – Nobody Walks, and she’s continued with the movie theme into 2017. Office Uprising is a film set to star Jane Levy in 2017, alongside Zachary Levi, Brenton Thwaites, and Alan Ritchson. 2017 will also see the airing of TV show, Twin Peaks, a continuation of the 1990-1991 version of the show.
13 – Kate Upton

24 year old Kate Upton was first known for appearing in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, but she’s branched out from modelling and tried her hand at acting, a move that doesn’t seem to have done her so bad. Her first movie was back in 2011, Tower Heist, and she then went on to appear in The Other Woman, and there are two more movies due out in the next year or so. The Disaster Artist is the first of these, and The Layover is the second, also starring Matt Barr.
14 – Selena Gomez

We all probably know Selena Marie Gomez better as a singer, rather than an actress, and also the very famous ex-girlfriend of Justin Bieber. She started her show business career in Barney & Friends, and now, aged just 24 years old, she has a music and movie / TV career that anyone would be envious of.
2017 will see Selena taking to the producers chair, taking on the part of executive producer for a 13-part mini series on Netflix called 13 Reasons Why. You will also see her playing the part of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania 3, due out in 2018.
15 – Chloë Moretz

Recently this young star has been in the paper for a very different reason than her career – her on/off love affair with son of Victoria and David Beckham’s son, Brooklyn. She apparently split in the summer of 2016, and it would appear that Chloë has thrown herself into work.
She’s been in some pretty impressive movies, bearing in mind that she is only 20 years of age, all starting from the 2005 movie, Heart of the Beholder. From there, she’s appeared in Bolt, (500) Days of Summer, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kick-Ass, Carrie, The Equalizer, and The 5th Wave. 2017 will see three new movies – The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Suspiria, and November Criminals.
16 – Emma Stone

Who doesn’t know who Emma Stone is? Star of Easy A, Zombieland, The Help and the recently critically acclaimed La La Land, she’s won a string of awards for her roles, including a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, an Academy Award, and many more. Not bad for the girl who originally wanted to be in the industry of sketch comedy.
Battle of the Sexes is a movie to keep your eyes out for in 2017, starring Emma Stone alongside Steve Carrell again. The sports comedy-drama promises to be a good watch, and with those two in the cast list, you know you’re not going to be disappointed!
17 – Emily Ratajkowski

She’s only 25 years old, but English-born Emily Ratajkowski was first shot to fame when she appeared in the rather controversial video for Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”. That’s not the only music video she’s been in though, also appearing in “Love Somebody” by Maroon 5. That all came about after appearing in an erotic magazine called treats! in 2012.
There have been a few TV shows and movies since then, and has also branched out into more charity-based work, closely partnering with PPFA (Planned Parenthood), and also promoting feminism.
18 – Elizabeth Olsen

Sister of twins, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Elizabeth has been spotted in a few big movies over the years, including 2011’s Silent House, 2014’s Godzilla, and even the 2015 and 2016 movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. It would appear she likes the world of Hollywood, with three movies due out in 2017, and also one more, Avengers: Infinity War, coming out in 2018.
19 – Lucy Hale

A singer and an actress, 27 year old Lucy Hale is also sometimes better known as Lucy Kate Hale, and earned her fame on the children’s version of American Idol, called American Juniors. She then starred in Pretty Little Liars as Aria Montgomery, and then she had the success of her first studio album, called Road Between.
20 – Sophie Turner

She might only be 21 years old, but Game of Thrones has shot Sophie Turner to fame. You may recall her as Stansa Stark on the HBO fantasy series that took the entire world by storm. Not bad for the English actress from Northampton in England! She has appeared in three movies throughout her short career too – Barely Lethal, Another Me, and also X-Men: Apocalypse, and there are two films due out in 2017. You will, of course, still be able to see Sophie in Game of Thrones.
21 – Dakota Fanning

23 year old Dakota Fanning is the sister of Elle Fanning, and is very much a little star in her own right. An actress as well as a model, she is the youngest nominee in history for a Screen Actors Guild Award, and that’s for her part in the 2001 movie, I Am Sam.
She’s grown up since then, of course, and so has her pattern of movie choices. Her earlier pieces include the Twilight movies, The Secret Life of Bees, Hounddog, and Charlotte’s Web, but more recently you’ll have seen her in Brimstone, The Escape, and American Pastoral. She’s been quiet for 2017, but 2018 will bring three movies with it, one of them being Ocean’s Eight.

Nathalie Emmanuel actually started her acting career in Broadway, and she’s an Essex-born, 28 year old actress. It was Hollyoaks, a British soap opera, that earned her a big name, and she then went on to star in Game of Thrones. There are a few movies to throw into the mix also – Furious 7, and she’s also appearing in The Fate of the Furious too. 2018 is going to be a good year for her, with the release of Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

Lily Collins is the daughter of musician, Phil Collins, and was born in Surrey, England. Just 27 years old, she’s achieved quite a lot, moving to America and becoming both a model and an actress. She has gone on to star in the TV show, 90210, as well as movies such as The Blind Side, Priest, Mirror Mirror, and The English Teacher. 2017 will see the release of three movies starring Lily – Halo of Stars, Okja, and To the Bone, also starring Keanu Reeves.

Not only is she a pretty good actress though, she’s also model-worthy beautiful, coming third in the third cycle of America’s Next Top Model.
