How would you describe this look?
This is a lived-in long layered bob with bangs. It has blunt edges and interior channeling to add texture and movement. I love this look because it’s flattering on pretty much anyone and gives them a nice on-trend update.
Any advice for someone considering it?
Make sure to consider the length you choose, so it’s long enough if you like to wear your hair up in a messy bun. Keep it a little past the curve of the shoulder and you don’t have to go through the awkward phase if you decide to grow it out!

How would you describe this look?
The layered lob haircut is one of the most requested looks right now. This style can be worn with any color such as reds, browns, blondes, etc. The simple styling for the lob cut makes it nice and easy to achieve a great look. Throw in some beach waves or leave it straight and you’ll be walking out the door with a cute chic look.
The color that was chosen for this particular guest complimented her skin tone beautifully. We went with a cooler blonde highlight while leaving enough natural root between foils to give her the right amount of dimension.
I love the diversity of it. There is no wrong way to wear this long layered bob, from the number of layers you add to it (short or long), wearing it straight, curly, or waved, to your favorite hair color!
Any advice for someone considering it?
This layered bob works best with medium to thick hair. Thin, fine hair can also wear this look, but just be sure the stylist does not give too short or too many short layers so there are no sparse ends.
The long layered bob haircut can work with any face shape since it’s a medium-length cut. It’s a low-maintenance look. You don’t have to be a pro at styling your hair to wear this cut, versus a short stacked bob/a-line or a pixie that requires a lot of styling. However, the color we chose for this guest is a little more high maintenance with the products you will need to use to keep your hair fresh and healthy between appointments. You’ll need purple shampoo to keep the toner long-lasting, color-safe shampoo and conditioner, heat protectant, and oil to keep your hair moisturized and to keep it from getting dry and brittle.

How would you describe this look?
This is a timeless cut when it comes to layered Lob haircuts! I think even if you have curly hair it will still look fabulous! If it’s cut the right way, and the long layers in the front fall right into place! It’s such a classic cut!
The best thing about this is that you can be super creative with the length and texture and make it look like a different look without having to really work at it!
It’s such a versatile haircut! If you want to tuck it, you can. If you want to make it more tousled, go for it! If you want to have more of a sleek look, you got it!
Any advice for someone considering it?
If you still want to feel like you still have long hair but you want to feel edgy and different, this long layered bob is a perfect look for you!
It’s a fun yet classic look! I feel like you can have this bob at an age. I would suggest you use a smoothing shampoo and conditioner, following with a blowout creme, then finishing off with a flexible hairspray.
If I was making it more of a sleek look I would do this. If I wanted more messy and textured, I would use a volume shampoo and conditioner, a thickening lotion, rough dry it then use a 1-inch curling iron for that perfect beach wave and then finish off with a texture spray or dry shampoo!

How would you describe this look?
It’s a layered mid-length lob with layers in the front. This creates movement that has an effortless look.
Any advice for someone considering it?
When it comes to Lob cuts with layers, I always take into consideration the head shape, growth patterns, and hairline. I wanted to create natural movement and a style she could duplicate at home.
I dry 95% of the moisture out with my fingers or a paddle brush. Then I use a medium-size round brush. I recommend a product for thermal protection along with a volumizing product. Less is more.
Perfect Long Layered Bob for Round Faces
@williamkernhair

How would you describe this look?
This long layered bob haircut and color is a great example of the lived-in hair trend that still remains so popular. I was going for a surfer girl feel for this client. Bob hairstyles and bangs go hand in hand.
The cut was done with a razor which helps encourage the slight wave her hair has naturally. I wanted it finished with a carefree feeling and with tons of texture, so I went for a lot of layers.
For her color, my goal was as sun-kissed as possible, so I focused the balayage around her face and in the crown.
What I love about this look is it seems so effortlessly chic. It’s also fairly low maintenance as both cut and color will grow out nicely.
Any advice for someone considering it?
The Lob haircut with layers is so versatile that, with minimal adjustment, it will work for nearly any face shape. This client is lucky because she has an oval face that can wear almost any style easily. If she had a rounder face, I would keep the layers a little longer to elongate and do a side swept fringe.
To style, I prepped her with a thermal protectant spray which is the most important product I recommend to my clients! Then I used a 1″ curling iron on vertical sections of hair directing away from the face. While the hair was still warm, I gave a little tug on each curl to loosen the wave. I finished with a weightless dry texture spray to give definition.
Stunning Layered Curly Bob

How would you describe this look?
This is an A-line lob for curly hair. What I like about this layered bob that she has the option to wear it with her natural curl or straighten it if she would like. It is very versatile. I also love that we balayaged it for a more natural lived-in look, but it added a brightness to the style.
Any advice for someone considering it?
A-line lobs can be done on just about anyone. You always want to take into account the face shape and texture. This client had medium textured hair but it is very dense. We had to layer more to remove some of the weight on the top so that she could get curl without it being weighed down.
She has the ideal face shape which is oval, so she can wear any length. If your face is rounder you should leave a little more length, and if your face is long you should wear a length a little closer to chin length.
Lastly, if you would like to recreate this look I would recommend a lightweight gel for people with “lazy curl”. It has a little more hold to encourage the curl to stay. If you have curls that don’t need any help I would recommend a curl cream that doesn’t have much hold and might help to relax the curl a little.
If you are going to blow dry, you should use a diffuser or let it dry naturally. When dry, feel free to touch up some pieces with a 1-inch curling iron leaving the ends out for less of a uniform curl.
Adorable Bob with Bangs
@laicale
Q&A with style creator, Cristian Di Nardo

How would you describe this look?
The haircut is a softly angled long and layered bob with bangs. I blow dried the hair with a round brush to give the hair voluminous loose waves.
For the color, I did a golden blonde balayage with a base break. This look was a drastic transformation from her natural dark brunette color. It was great to see the client with a completely different look!
Any advice for someone considering it?
This layered lob cut is on the shorter side and is perfect for people with both medium and fine hair because it makes the hair look fuller, and it is suitable for both straight or wavy hair. People with curly hair can also achieve this look if they are able to put a little more time into styling.
How to style: On wet or damp hair apply Laicale Smoother No Frizz Creme. Use a small round brush and create waves directing the hair away from the face. Once finished use your fingers to gently soften the curls.
Once the blow dry is finished, spray some Rockaway Sea Salt spray from R+Co to create separation.
A-Line Lob Balayage with Subtle Layers

How would you describe this look?
This is a textured and elongated A-line lob with a dimensional balayage. Styled with beach waves, this look is perfect for the summer! Adding color to your bob hairstyles will definitely give it that extra eye catching detail.
What I love most about this layered bob is the versatility that the cut and color give her. It can be worn straight or with any type of curl to give such an effortless look!
Any advice for someone considering it?
This cut is perfect for anyone looking for a longer approach on the traditional bob. As far as the color, balayage is a great low maintenance choice for someone looking for some lightness throughout the hair without seeing the regrowth that highlights create.
For styling, I recommend Kérastase Ciment Thermique. This is a reparative leave-in with up to 450-degree heat protectant. After curling your hair, use Kérastase Laque Dentelle flexible hold hairspray to get the perfect textured waves!
Cute Wavy Lob with Long Layers

How would you describe this look?
I usually describe this haircut to my clients as a “lob” or long bob with long layers. I think it complements a Balayage or color melt very nicely, and that’s one of my favorite things about the lob haircut. It really makes balayage and color melts pop! It’s also easy to style and perfect for summer.
Any advice for someone considering it?
The long layered bob cut is a great option if you have long locks and are ready for a change to short hair but not that very short. Adding shorter layers is a good first step.
If you want to be able to have a ponytail, this is still perfect! Add some volume foam and blow dry messy, then you can use either flat iron, curling wand, or large curling iron to achieve these messy waves.
All that’s left to do is add a little dry texture spray or paste, and you’re good to go! I honestly believe this haircut is flattering on just about all face shapes and fits perfectly with just about any lifestyle with its easiness of styling!
